How to read the 6905 designation
| Segment | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 6 | Single row deep groove ball bearing |
| 9 | Dimension series 19 (light thin section) |
| 05 | Bore code 05 → 25 mm bore. ISO bore code (00–03 = 10/12/15/17 mm; 04 and above = code × 5 mm). |
6905 interchange
6905 is an ISO designation. The boundary dimensions are identical across manufacturers; only suffixes (seals, clearance, cage) differ.
Brand names are trademarks of their respective owners. FULI is not affiliated with, authorized by or endorsed by these companies. Part numbers are shown for interchange reference only. FULI dimensions, load ratings and speeds come from the FULI catalog.
Tolerances and fits for 6905
FULI makes 6905 to P0 as standard, with P6 on request. P0 is the Normal tolerance class of ISO 492; P6 limits are tighter. These are the P0 limits for the 25 × 42 × 9 mm size.
| Dimension | Nominal, mm | Deviation, µm | Limits, mm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bore d (Δdmp) | 25 | 0 / −10 | 25.000 / 24.990 |
| Outside diameter D (ΔDmp) | 42 | 0 / −11 | 42.000 / 41.989 |
| Width B (ΔBs) | 9 | 0 / −120 | 9.000 / 8.880 |
Δdmp and ΔDmp: deviation of the mean bore and mean outside diameter in one radial plane. ΔBs: inner ring width; the outer ring width has the same limits.
Shaft and housing fits (general guidance)
For an inner ring that turns with a solid steel shaft under normal load, bearing makers’ fit tables give 25 k5 for the shaft of 6905. The housing bore is usually H7, or J7 where the outer ring must not creep.
| Seat | Deviation, µm | Limits, mm | Fit with 6905 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shaft 25 k5 | +11 / +2 | 25.011 / 25.002 | 2 to 21 µm interference |
| Housing 42 H7 | +25 / 0 | 42.025 / 42.000 | 0 to 36 µm clearance |
| Housing 42 J7 | +14 / −11 | 42.014 / 41.989 | 11 µm interference to 25 µm clearance |
Taking the loosest and the tightest combination of limits, a P0 6905 on a 25 mm k5 shaft has 2 to 21 µm interference. Its outer ring has 0 to 36 µm clearance in an H7 bore and 11 µm interference to 25 µm clearance in a J7 bore.
This is general guidance, not a FULI specification. Heavy or shock loads, a hollow shaft, a thin-walled, split or light-alloy housing, or a large temperature difference between shaft and housing call for other classes, and the drawing of your machine takes priority. A tight shaft fit or a hot housing uses up internal clearance, and that is when C3 is chosen instead of C0.
If the outer ring turns and the shaft stands still, as in an idler pulley or a wheel hub, the fits are reversed: the housing gets the interference fit (for example N7 or P7) and the shaft a sliding one (g6 or h6).

6905 weight, load ratings and speed
FULI's catalog gives the weight of 6905 as about 0.042 kg, so 100 bearings weigh about 4.2 kg and 1,000 about 42 kg before packing. The open, ZZ and 2RS versions share this catalog line.
6905 has a dynamic load rating Cr of 6.35 kN and a static load rating C0r of 4.37 kN. Cr is the load used to work out rating life; C0r is the reference for loads carried while the bearing is stationary or turning slowly. Limiting speeds in the catalog are 15,000 rpm with grease and 18,000 rpm with oil.
Contact seals add friction at the lip, so 6905-2RS usually runs below the speed of the open bearing. Ask us for the limit of the version you order.

6905 dimensions in inches
The nearest common inch shaft size to the 25 mm bore of 6905 is 1 in (25.40 mm), 0.4 mm larger than the bore, so 6905 will not go on it. Inch shafts need an inch bearing, not a metric one with a sleeve or shim.
| Dimension | Millimetres | Inches |
|---|---|---|
| Bore d | 25 mm | 0.9843 in |
| Outside diameter D | 42 mm | 1.6535 in |
| Width B | 9 mm | 0.3543 in |
Converted at 1 in = 25.4 mm and rounded to four decimals. The bearing itself is made to the millimetre sizes.
Grease for 6905
FULI fills sealed 6905-2RS and 6905-ZZ bearings to about 30% of the free internal space as standard. The fill is set on an automatic greasing machine after sample sets are weighed before and after greasing. Sealed bearings are not regreased in service. A different fill level, a low-noise grease or a grease for a stated temperature range can be written on the order; for North America a range of −40 to 120 °C is often asked for.
Relubricating 6905 from the side takes about 1.89 g each time by the formula in our grease calculator: 0.005 × D × B = 0.005 × 42 × 9. This applies to the open 6905 in a housing with a grease supply.
How FULI supplies 6905
The standard 6905 from FULI has GCr15 chrome steel rings and balls, P0 precision, C0 radial clearance and vibration grade Z3V3; P6, C3 and other vibration grades are made on request. Radial clearance is set on automatic assembly equipment and sampled during production. Orders with a noise or vibration requirement are tested set by set before packing.
Rings are marked with a brand you are authorised to use, with the FULI brand, or left neutral, as your order states. The box is printed with the model, precision class and brand.
Inquiries that leave out the prefix or suffix letters are the usual cause of a wrong quote, so write the full designation, for example 6905-2RS C3.

FAQ
What is the difference between 6905 and 16005?
Both fit a 25 mm shaft. 6905 is 25 × 42 × 9 mm and 16005 is 25 × 47 × 8 mm, so 16005 has an outside diameter 5 mm larger (47 mm) and 1 mm less width (8 mm). In FULI's catalog 16005 has a dynamic load rating of 7.52 kN against 6.35 kN and a weight of about 0.059 kg against 0.042 kg for 6905. Choose 16005 for a higher load where the housing has room for it; 6905 keeps the housing smaller.
What is the difference between 6905 and 6805?
Both fit a 25 mm shaft. 6905 is 25 × 42 × 9 mm and 6805 is 25 × 37 × 7 mm, so 6805 has an outside diameter 5 mm smaller (37 mm) and 2 mm less width (7 mm). In FULI's catalog 6805 has a dynamic load rating of 3.87 kN against 6.35 kN and a weight of about 0.021 kg against 0.042 kg for 6905. 6805 suits a housing with less room; 6905 carries more load.
What size is 6905 in inches?
6905 is 0.9843 × 1.6535 × 0.3543 in (25 × 42 × 9 mm, d × D × B). The nearest common inch shaft size to the 25 mm bore of 6905 is 1 in (25.40 mm), 0.4 mm larger than the bore, so 6905 will not go on it. Use an inch bearing on an inch shaft.
How much does 6905 weigh?
About 0.042 kg in FULI's catalog, so 100 pieces weigh about 4.2 kg before packing. The open, ZZ and 2RS versions share this catalog line.
What is the difference between 6905-ZZ and 6905-2RS?
Both are 25 × 42 × 9 mm, the same as the open 6905. 6905-ZZ has two metal shields that do not touch the inner ring, so it runs with little drag but only keeps out coarse dirt. 6905-2RS has two rubber seals whose lips touch the inner ring; it keeps out water and fine dust at the cost of more friction. FULI fills both to about 30% of the free space.
How much grease does 6905 need?
Sealed 6905-2RS and 6905-ZZ come filled to about 30% of the free space and are not regreased. An open 6905 relubricated from the side takes about 1.89 g each time (0.005 × 42 × 9).
Is 6905 the same size across brands?
Yes. 6905 is an ISO designation, so the bore, outside diameter and width are the same whichever manufacturer made it. Brand-specific suffixes only change details such as seals, clearance or cage.
