Bearing Carton Quantity

Work out approximate shipment weight and volume from per-model quantities using unit weights, then confirm exact carton counts on the packing list.

Estimate a shipment’s net weight from per-model quantities, then use that figure to plan LCL or FCL freight. Exact carton counts and cubic metres are confirmed on the packing list once the order is packed.

Step 1: net weight of the bearings

Multiply each model’s unit weight by its quantity, using the bearing weight chart, and add the lines together for the shipment’s total net weight. For example, 2,000 pieces of 6205 at 0.204 kg each (see the chart for the exact figure) gives roughly 408 kg of bearings before packing.

Step 2: add packaging for an estimated gross weight

PackagingRough weight added
Individual poly bag + boxSmallest addition
Carton onlyModerate addition
Carton + palletMore weight added, but needed for FCL/LCL handling

Use 10 to 20 percent over the net bearing weight as a planning margin for a first freight quotation; this is a rough allowance, not a packing specification.

Step 3: weight vs volume for freight

Bearings are dense, so a shipment usually hits a container’s weight limit before its volume limit. LCL freight is charged on whichever is greater, one cubic metre or one metric ton — see FOB vs CIF and shipping terms for how this changes the LCL/FCL choice. Plan by the estimated gross weight from Step 2 first, and treat cubic metres as a secondary check once cartons are packed.

Getting exact figures

Carton size, pieces per carton and pallet layout depend on the model, quantity and packaging option chosen for that order, so they are confirmed on the packing list rather than fixed in advance. Send your model list and quantities to sales@fuli-bearings.com or use the request a quote form, and ask for carton and pallet dimensions to be included on the quotation if you need them before booking freight.

FAQ

Why does this page not give a fixed number of pieces per carton?

Carton pack quantity depends on the carton size used for that order and varies by model and packaging choice (neutral, branded, individual poly bag), so a single fixed number per model would be misleading. The packing list issued with your order gives the exact count per carton once packed.

Should I plan freight by weight or by volume?

For bearings, plan by weight first. Bearings are dense, so a shipment usually reaches a container's weight limit well before it reaches the volume limit, and LCL freight is charged on whichever of weight or volume is greater.

How accurate is a weight estimate before packing?

The bearing weight alone (unit weight times quantity) is accurate, since it comes from catalogue figures. Add roughly 10 to 20 percent for packaging weight as a rough planning margin; the packing list gives the exact gross weight once the order is packed.
