How to Request a Bearing Quotation
What to include in a bearing RFQ: model number, seal type, clearance, quantity and destination port. Includes a copy-ready template.
A bearing quotation is only as accurate as the inquiry behind it. If the inquiry says “6205, 1000 pcs”, the supplier quotes an open 6205 with normal clearance in its own standard packing, because that is what the number means. If you needed a sealed C3 bearing in printed boxes, the price is for the wrong product, and you find out after comparing it with a quote that was for the right one. This page lists what to put in a bearing RFQ, gives a template you can copy, and points out the items buyers most often leave out.
What to include in a bearing RFQ
| Item | Why it matters | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Full model number | Prefixes and suffixes define the product | 6205-2RS/C3, not 6205 |
| Quantity per model | The quote is made line by line | 6205-2RS/C3: 2,000 pcs |
| Closure | Open, shield or seal changes the bearing | 2RS, ZZ, open |
| Clearance | No mark means C0 | C3 for motors |
| Precision and noise | Standard is P0; deep groove ball bearings are Z3V3 | P6, or a stated noise requirement |
| Grease | Type, temperature range or fill, if not standard | −40 to 120 °C grease |
| Marking | What is printed on the ring | Your authorized brand, factory brand or neutral |
| Packaging | How you need the bearings packed and marked | Printed boxes with your artwork; your shipping marks |
| Trade term and port | Decides which costs are in the price | FOB Qingdao, CIF your port |
| Inspection and documents | Report items, certificates | Inspection report, material certificate, Form COO |
| Application (optional) | Helps check that the specification suits the job | Fan motor, conveyor tail pulley |
Two items save the most back-and-forth: the full model number and a photo. With those, most other questions answer themselves.

Items buyers often leave out
Prefix and suffix letters. This is the gap we see most. Without the letters, the factory cannot tell what quality and features you expect, so it falls back to the basic number. Copy the designation from the ring exactly.
Clearance. No clearance mark means normal clearance (C0). Motor bearings, pump bearings and hot-running positions are often C3. Write it in the model, for example 6306-2RS/C3.
Noise and grade. If the bearing goes into a motor, fan or appliance where noise matters, say so. A standard bearing in equipment designed for a quieter grade is a common cause of complaints. FULI deep groove ball bearings are Z3V3 as standard. If you need a quieter grade, tell us and we will confirm whether we can supply it.
Inch vs metric. For mounted units and tapered bearings, state whether the bore is metric or inch. UC208 is 40 mm; UC208-24 is 1-1/2 in.
Complete unit or part. For mounted units, say whether you want the complete unit, the insert only or the housing only. For tapered bearings, say whether you want the complete bearing, the cone or the cup.
OEM numbers alone. An OEM part number must be matched to a standard bearing before it can be quoted. Send the dimensions and a photo with it.
Marking and packaging. Box printing and ring marking are agreed before production. Leaving them until after the quote can change the price. The packaging guide lists what to specify.
Port and trade term. A quote without a trade term cannot be compared with another. Our FOB vs CIF guide explains the options.
What happens after you send it
- We check every line against the standard designations. Where an OEM number or a brand suffix needs matching, we confirm the standard model with you.
- We prepare the specification sheet. If any item cannot be supplied exactly as asked, it is marked as an exception on the same sheet; we do not substitute a different bearing without telling you.
- You receive the quotation with the price per line on the stated trade term. Ask which lines are in stock if timing matters.
- Once you confirm, the order goes into production or is picked from stock, checked and packed as agreed.
If you want to know the number and size of the balls in a bearing, ask in the inquiry. Bearings are standard parts, and we give these figures.
Our guide to reading a bearing price list explains how to check the quote line by line when it arrives. Before you send the list, the pre-order check helps catch missing suffixes and inch/metric mix-ups.
Send your inquiry
Email sales@fuli-bearings.com or use the contact page. The bearing buying guide covers the whole process. If the bearing number is worn, the bearing size finder helps you identify it from measurements, and the bearing cross reference pages cover common series and brand designations for dimensional interchange.

FAQ
What should a bearing RFQ include?
For each line: the full model number with prefixes and suffixes, and the quantity. For the order: any clearance, noise, grease or precision requirement, the marking and packaging, the trade term and destination port, and any inspection or certificate you need.
Can I ask for a quote with only the bearing dimensions?
Yes. Send the bore, outside diameter and width, and a photo of the bearing and its markings. The supplier identifies the standard model and asks you to confirm it before quoting.
Should I send OEM part numbers in a bearing inquiry?
Send them, but add the dimensions and a photo. Each equipment maker numbers bearings its own way, and the OEM number has to be matched to a standard model before a factory can quote it.
Why does my supplier ask so many questions before quoting?
Because the details change the product. Seals, clearance, noise grade, grease and marking each change how the bearing is made and what it costs. A supplier who quotes without asking is quoting its own default.
Where do I send a bearing inquiry to FULI?
Use the form or the email address on the contact page. A spreadsheet with one line per model is the easiest format for both sides.
