Choosing between them
Work from whichever dimension is fixed on your machine: if the housing bore is already cut to a diameter, match the series whose D equals that bore; if only the shaft is fixed and the housing is still open, pick 6200 as the default and step to 6000 for a tighter housing or 6300 for a heavier load. Width (B) moves with the series too, so check the housing’s axial space as well as its bore.

FAQ
Why do three series share the same bore?
The series sets how much steel surrounds the balls, not the shaft fit. A 6005, 6205 and 6305 all take a 25 mm shaft, but the housing bore, load capacity and price step up from 6000 to 6200 to 6300.
Which series should I default to if I am not sure?
6200 is the most common series for general industrial use — motors, pumps, gearboxes — and is usually the easiest to source. Use 6000 where housing space is tight and the load is light, and 6300 where the load is higher or the housing bore is already cut larger.
Can I switch series on an existing machine?
Only if the housing bore is re-machined or was already sized for the new series — the three series are not interchangeable in the same housing bore. Measure the existing bearing's outside diameter before ordering a replacement in a different series.
